Strategies to stand out CV

We know you have worked out hard to fill your CV.
Now, be more strategic to show off your experiences.

CVs are not simple resumes describing your previous and current experiences. Consider a few things to make your CV more competitive that free-passes through pre-screening and gives you more chance of interviews.

1. Look closer at the Job Descriptions.
Collect a few job descriptions that you are trying to apply for. Compare and make a list of action verbs that were used to describe responsibilities and qualifications in the job descriptions. When the software pre-screens the CVs, they look for matches between the job description and the candidate's CVs. Use repetitive action verbs you have found in the job descriptions.

2. Check your grammar.
Checking grammar is the most common mistake of the candidates. Utilize multiple grammar-checking websites to correct your grammar in your descriptions. A resume is your first impression. Check and check again before submitting your CV and be free from the mistakes.

3. Customize your CV
As you can see from multiple job descriptions, they all have different job requirements and qualifications. If you have targeting experiences for certain positions, customize your CV by highlighting those experiences or skills/capabilities. Have your customized CV ready for the positions before you apply. This will decrease your time in applying and also make you more competitive.
